Try scrolling as far down as you can, or save and reopen Maya. I could have swore at some point I seen the interface that I’m seeing online but now I just can’t get it back. In mine I just have a spot to put numbers.
#VRAY SKETCHUP SUN SETTINGS MANUAL#
I also noticed that the manual is showing pull down menus for things like physical type with a description. My is under the heading extra attributes where in the manual is located under vray extra attributes.

However it the manual and all other tutorials I find online there interface is different. Under the heading extra attributes are all the physical camera settings. The V-Ray Sun and Sky are based largely on the model presented in. I select my camera, open attribute editor and added the physical camera. I’m confused about the interface in the attribute editor. Physical camera: much better results as soon as I turned it on. Regular maya camera displays the sun being super bright. Okay I’ve started from scratch with a new camera. use a HDR sky and increase the sun intensity. increase the diffuse and specular contribution of the sun. The solutions are starting to seem endless. More times then not the interior is too dark.
#VRAY SKETCHUP SUN SETTINGS HOW TO#
The skylights act as portal lights and bring colour from the outside inside. Re: all vray for sketchup settings eplained in one thread ok, very nice, i will check all these out, i have so many tutorials but none give me what i want, they explain the main settings but its still not as real as what i see online, u know what ama start posting some renders and see what comments i get on how to improve my renders. But this only helps the sky and sun from blowing out with excepting of lowering the suns intensity. So to sum this all up it seems as though the sun and sky really need a physical camera. This almost seems too simple but if its the way to go then I’ll follow. I like it, but the whole upping the ISO is throwing me off. So it seems as you said that the only good there doing is sucking in environment colour to the room. Instead he choose to increase the ISO to 2000. It seems almost identical to portal lights in mr except he made no mention of the skylights having the ability to increase the intensity of the interior lighting. It must be one continuous shot so breaking the scene apart is not an option. My scene is a camera flythrough that starts outside of a car dealership that is mainly made of glass and then goes inside to look at the cars. (this also scares me and feels like a hack rather then an appropriate way to work.

The manual says that the sun and sky is initially very bright. I’ve read the manual and watch Digital tutors videos. I’m confused about the sun and sky intensity. I’m new to vray but picking it up very fast.
